August 1, 2015-Breakfast at Cosmic Kitchen, driving/sightseeing to Seward, Breeze Inn, dinner at Eureka Pizza

SEWARD

We decide to have breakfast before leaving Homer so we head over to COSMIC KITCHEN.  Today I get 1 egg scrambled, English muffin, bacon, coffee.  Richard has the Cosmic Kitchen breakfast burrito and coffee.  Bill is around $20.  Back to the Pioneer Inn.  Load our bags into the car.  Stop for gas $10 and we're off to Seward.

Gas is expensive in Alaska

We make some stops along the way.  Kasilof River.  Soldotna-Creek Park where we park the car and walk over to the Kenai River to watch people salmon fishing, The Moose is Loose bakery for goodies for tomorrow's breakfast, Fred Meyer.

Even with road construction we make decent time and arrive in Seward late afternoon.  We easily find BREEZE INN our home for 4 nights.  $972.36 for a superior room with a water view.  Check in is a "breeze" and we are given a paper to attach to the car's windshield so we can park in the hotel's lot.  Our room is in the newer annex building and has a lovely view of the harbor area.  The room is very nice with 2 huge double/maybe queen size beds, a table with 2 chairs, dresser, TV, mini fridge, coffee maker with supplies, hair dryer, bathroom with a tub and toiletries.  We unpack and head out to go to a shop I've noticed.  I buy some postcards, AAA batteries but nothing else catches my eye.

Not a bad view from our room

EUREKA PIZZA is right across the street from our hotel and is on my restaurant list for Seward.  There is hardly any one here so we figure all is good.  Not so fast!  This place does take out and we are told the wait for our order will be 1 hour.  There appears to be only the one pizza oven.  Ok, we'll sit at the table and read some brochures on Seward.  I notice a bottle of Frank's Hot Sauce and tell the pizza guy/owner that it is made in our home town-Buffalo, NY.  He also knows that wings were invented/started in Buffalo.  We have a nice chat.  Our order-medium cheese/pepperoni pizza and 7 piece hot wings and drinks.  Around $40.    It was so delicious!!  A great meal and well worth the wait.
