ZAANDAM
Today we have Glacier Bay from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm. Breakfast in the Rotterdam Dining Room. Richard has the oatmeal with raisins and some sort of bread, juice, and coffee. I order eggs over easy, hash brown patties, bacon, toast, and coffee. My appetite is ok but I'm feeling queasy. I guess it's because of the rough seas? I didn't bring any motion sickness meds with me because I've never had that problem. Over to the general shop-all the motion sickness meds and bracelets are sold out. I'll just have to power through it.
Our ship enters
Glacier Bay at 9:30 am and the rangers who will be imparting information embark at 9:45 am. Their narration will start at 12:00 pm. The scenery is everything you read about. Tons of people outside on deck snapping pictures. We visit
Margarie and
Grand Pacific Glacier. Then
Lamplight Glacier. What an experience. I took hundreds of pictures. We also watched from our verandah! Saw calvings from on deck and on our verandah. We see bald eagles and lots of kittiwakes on ice floes. Some really large calvings. Rangers disembark from the ship at 7:30 pm.

Dinner tonight is Richard's choice-the
Lido buffet. I hate buffets because there's too much food to choose and everything has been cooked beforehand and is being kept warm in warming dishes. Some things are delicious and some-not so much in my opinion. I go through the line (Another thing I dislike) and get salad, a small slice of prime rib, some chicken, mashed potatoes, cabbage and some other veggies. More food than I would normally eat which is another thing that I don't like about buffets! Richard gets a huge salad and a roll. What else I don't remember! The meat was tender. It was all good but I just feel like I ate too much. I really believe that even though the buffet food is good the quality of the Rotterdam Dining Room food was way better.

Back in our cabin I'm greeted by another towel art masterpiece. I'll find something new each night. We also find on the bed tomorrow's On Location pamphlet-
Haines. I'm still feeling so queasy and it seems to be worse later in the evening. However it has not affected my appetite! I tell Richard to
go enjoy the shows,
grab a drink at the bar, etc. I'll be fine going to bed which helps the nausea.
Tomorrow is our first port-
Haines.
